We will meet at the indicated time in Praça Marquês de Pombal, where we will board the minibus that will take us to Fátima.
After an hour and 20 minutes of travel, we will reach the Sanctuary of Fátima, one of the most famous pilgrimage sites in the world. First, we will visit the Basilica of Nuestra Señora del Rosario, where the funerary monuments of the three shepherd children who supposedly had an apparition of the Madonna right here in 1917 are located.
Next, we will explore the Sanctuary of the Holy Trinity, before accessing the Chapel of the Apparitions, whose pedestal marks the exact point where the Madonna appeared to the three shepherd children. Did you know that it is right here that the famous Candle Procession begins?
In this solemn moment, the faithful silently follow the Madonna with lit candles as the effigy travels along the esplanade until it returns to the chapel. The candle lights and the singing of the Rosary in the darkness of the night will create a truly exciting atmosphere... Seeing is believing!
After the procession, we will return to Lisbon and conclude the excursion after five hours by returning to the starting point. If you want, we can take you directly to your hotel in Lisbon. The optional transfer costs €5 per person, to be paid directly on the day of the excursion.
